Basketball

I think I've gone to Ruben's basketball games more than I ever went to any of my HS's games...all four years. But it is cool. I feel like I know the team. Did we just cross a line into creepy there?

Anyway, after watching so many games, I attempted a game myself today. I don't remember the last time I tried. I do remember the last time I tried to shoot a 3 pointer, it took me many tries, then I did a high kick for celebration, and promptly landed on my behind and it was bruised and hard to sit for a few days.

Church decided that since it has a league for the Young Men and Young Women, and even the older men, it should try to start up some games for the more mature women. So, every week after the girls play, there is a pick up game for us. I wasn't going to go...but my mom wanted to play, and I had to see that!

We were doing shots beforehand, and she totally made WAY more baskets than myself. How embarrassado. (And yes I know what that means, but NO, I'm not changing it).

Then we played. It wasn't too bad. Competitive enough to be fun, but not so much that I felt bad for being a bad player. I really think I peaked in the 7th grade.

Anyway, I realize that I might not be the best shooter, or ball handler...so what does that leave me? Well, I'm really competitive. And if there is a dead ball, who has 2 thumbs and is willing to throw herself over the ball to gain possession and never let go? This girl!

Bruises, 2 broken nails, and a very red scratch mark on my thigh. Not a bad first game...right?
