We Are the Champions!

When people talk about their sport team in a "we" sense, sometimes I want to tell them, you didn't do anything! But, with Ruben and his basketball team, I do take some credit. I mean, I'm sure some of those boys are thinking, "Man, if only I played a little better, maybe Jordan will call me Muffin, or make me a poster!"

This last Saturday Muffin had his championship game. OOH! I was so excited. It was in Lincoln, and the fam and I got all ready to go. It was a bit of a nail biter at the beginning, but it got good later. OCA, you just got Jimmer'd!

My little Muffin made his first 3 of the season! It was awesome. He also did a good job guarding and blocking shots. Little Johnny also got to play the last 30 seconds! We won! It was so fun to watch. Nebraska Frontier Conference Champions!

My brother's school is more known for its academics, not necessarily its athletic prowess, so this was the first time since 1980 the boys brought home the Conference win, and the first time ever the boys and girls won it at the same time. We did so good! Now, if only the coach would recognize my contribution, I would be in the picture as well.

Jimmer'd

Jimmer is kind of a big deal. He is no doubt an amazing player. All season I've been keeping track of the BYU games and hearing about Jimmer (mostly because Muffin has the biggest man crush on him). And, as a lover of all things BYU, I keep track of the games, but I'm not usually a huge basketball watcher.

Tonight, Jimmer and BYU played SDSU. Match of the Titans. Whoever wins will be #1 in the Mountain West. So, I sat down to watch. Let me just say that watching games with Sara and my Mom is ridiculous. They jump, they squeal, and Mom genuinely believes that saying "Jinx" will prevent the other team from scoring. They are more loud than when they watch Muffin play in person.

But, tonight, I went from loving Jimmer for BYU's sake, to loving Jimmer because he is awesome. And his arms. And his shots--they even sound pretty.

I was thinking. My boys will have "J" names. Jacoby, Jimmer, and Jimothy.

And, to be fair I will say, SDSU had some highlights.
#1) DJ Gay. Awesome name. Sounds like he works at Club Naked in SLC.
And #2) Closeups of SDSU coach. He was always clapping his hands. Each time I saw him I would sing, "Everybody clap yo' hands!" (I hope that annoying Cha Cha Slide song popped into your head, and I hope it stays there ALL night)

I could marry Jimmer, and then I wouldn't be a failure in a Titanic sinking ship of love. Win-Win-Win.

Muffin for my Muffin

Ruben said I could continue to call him "Muffin," as long as I make him muffins. Banana Muffins, Boosh!

Daddy also informed me that I could start calling him "Apple Pie," or "Banana Creme Pie."

Fail

I've been contemplating not going to FHE anymore. But, had I not gone tonight, I would have missed out on the best lesson ever!

Ok, so, on the board is a picture of a sailboat, with an "F" on the sail, and a heart on the boat. What is it?
NOT a love boat.
NOT a Friend Ship

It is a failboat of love. Because we are all failures in love.

Fantastic.

So, of course I'm zoning out, because that is what I do. But, occasionally I hear a few tidbits. One gem being, "I learned this when I was in Young Women. . . which was 6 months ago."

Yup, she is 18.

THEN, her final topic deals with the fact that while we all want to get married, some of us wont EVER get married in this life. And for some reason, being told this by an 18 year old is utterly HI-Larious, and I bust out laughing.

But, I cover my mouth because I feel like I should feel bad about laughing during a lesson, and instead am silently laughing in the corner. All through the lesson, Lindsey and I are talking, and then I laugh harder because she's laughing at me. Tears are coming out.

It was THE BEST!

Then, they pass out surveys on love. Because Valentine's day is coming up, and I'm sure an amazing V-day activity is being planned.

Jealous?

Winter Fun

Its been snowing here. Not a surprise, because this is winter, and we don't live in Arizona/California/other warm state. However, it is just simply getting annoying.

Well, on Saturday my little bro bro comes into my room. And after doing some small talk, he asks me to take him to the mall to get uber special basketball socks. I'm bored, so why not? It is snowing again. Probably not the best weather to go out in, but whatever. We're daring.

We get to the mall, and it is dying. Seriously. It looks like its closed because most of the stores are gone, and the lights aren't all turned on. We get his socks and head home. Super exciting story, right?

Well, we are almost home. Up one more hill and down the street. Well, I swear something is in the snow here, because it was easier to drive up a mountain to get home last year in the snow than go up a hill here in Omaha. Halfway up I get stuck.

I tell Ruben we have 2 options.
1) Sit in the car until the gas runs out and hope for rescue
2) Abandon the car and wait til Spring

Then Ruben points out, we can just go down the hill backwards and travel on another street that isn't as steep.

Whatevs.

Gem

Some people have complained about a lack of photos in the posts. There was a reason. I couldn't upload any onto my computer. My lovely computer that saw me thru my law school days was throwing a fit. So, I retired her.

After finally downloading some pictures onto my new computer, here is a gem back from Ruben's football days. It was the game on my birthday if I'm not mistaken. He lost. Boo. But, I would wave this thing and cheer for my Muffin nearly every game.

A Day on the Rez

I went to a funeral on the Rez today. I haven't been up there in years, I think. I can say a lot, but I'll just say that it was a long day. And now, I'm super tired. It is not that late. I feel like an old person.

In other news. When we walked in, my mom said people were talking about us. We are the "lawyer family." Yeah we are!

New Goal

This Christmas season I realized something. I love sitting in the front middle of the Expedition between my parents. This is not new. BUT, when my niece was over she wanted to sit there. I was like, hey, she isn't 12 and therefore can't sit in the front. Suckah!

Well, she is almost 9. That gives me 3 years until she will boot me out of the front. So, in order to save face, I must get married before she turns 12.

Also, New Years Goal: Get fatter and stay single. I feel like I could accomplish this. One might help the other. Also, if I don't meet any of these goals, I feel like I could still be happy.
