Pow Wow Time!

This weekend was Pow Wow, aka awesome fun weekend. Friday I left work a little early. I couldn't help but be too excited about vendors to concentrate on a civil file. I mostly hung out with my good friend Amy, and it was a good night.

My cousin Sariah got feathered too. She wore Meredith's regalia. I was trying to look for her before it happened and when I saw someone walking out looking like my sister, I knew it had to be her.

The down side of the night was that I came straight from work, and thus wore super high heels. I'll tell you, it is better to stand in heels all night than take them off for a few moments and put them back on! They burned like fire!

Saturday was a full day. I came early again and hung out with Amy. Then Meredith showed up with her girls for hoop dancing and Tiny Tots. Grand Entry was pushed back an hour, and then it took forever to start Tiny Tots. In the mean time, Charley met up with her friends and did the inter tribals. They were dancing fools!

Super cute girls.

So the weekend was fun and a success. I saw family and friends and got a bunch of jewelry. What more can a girl ask for?

Its Funny, Because its true!

One of my favorite jokes goes like this:

A electoral candidate was going on a campaign tour. As he was leaving his admirers, one man yelled out, "Senator, you have the vote of every thinking person!"

To which the candidate replied, "That's not enough, we need a majority!"

Only too true. Working in the court, seeing people show up in their finest sweat pants, coming in for the stupidest things...

Yesterday we had a big case come in. The media was there and so there was an article. I read the comments. BIG mistake, because now I'm just annoyed with all the stupid people out there.

Which brings me to a Ruling coming out of a Texas Bankruptcy court. It was a ruling on a response to a response to someone else's response on their response. Pretty much verbatim. The best part is the footnote at the end, quoting Billy Madison.

1. Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I aspire to write something like that one day. Mostly because when I write things, I just want to say, "You're an idiot. Motion, denied." Well done, Judge, Well done.

Crap! I did it again!

Over a week ago now my little sister got married. It was a crazy filled weekend, but I loved being home with family, even if we did have to talk my mom down from a few ledges. The reception was the first time we just got to sit down and let other people worry about the food and what not. (At least it was that way for me!)

In any case, at the reception comes the bouquet toss. And last year I caught about 5 bouquets, with cursed results. So, this year not only have I attended less weddings, but I now avoid the bouquet toss altogether. I intended to continue the trend at my sister’s wedding. In fact, my sole enjoyment would be tackling my other sister. However, she got pushed to the middle, and I could see no good coming out of taking out all those other girls just to get to Lexi.

Ergo, I was just going to stand there like a lame log. Until just before Sara went to throw, I noticed all the little wimpy girls, and competition took over. It would just be too easy, and it was. Right before the throw I decided to get it and show them who’s boss. So, I was in the middle of taking off a heel when flowers were let go and I had to jump one-shoed thru the air. It was seriously too easy. And then to show my flair, I ceremoniously threw down my other remaining shoe.

From which exuberance I received a few tips that certain people’s brothers were still single. Trust me people, I am in no rush to be married off to your brothers! I just really like flowers, and if no one gives them to me, I take it!

In any case, the curse has continued. So, during my friend’s upcoming wedding this weekend, I will be sitting at the table, enjoying my dessert while the bouquet is tossed. I’ve once again learned my lesson: If you want flowers, get them at Costco.

Realization

So, at home I love running errands with my parents. And my favorite spot in the car is the hump in the front seat between them.

My dad asked me if we had to travel 1000 miles and there was an entire backseat open or the hump, where would I sit. I had to tell dad, "Don't make me choose!"

In any case. I realized something. I'm basically five.
