The time was 4:10 pm.
The place was the Howard W. Hunter Law Library.
The lights go completely out as I am walking to my class. All of a sudden every door slams shut. I squeal like a little girl. My first thought: there is a fire and the doors are sealing us off.
"I'm going to burn alive!"
Then a guy calmly walks thru the doors and out of the library like nothing happened. I follow. I still live. There is no fire. The electricity just went out for a few minutes.

Nutshell
On Thursday night we went to Park City for the Sun- dance Film Festival! Last year Liz, Ankitha, Natalia and I went to try to get tickets. We went to Cheesecake Factory, and then we stood in line, but alas, we didn't get in. Instead, we wandered around Park City. Did I mention that I was wearing heels? And it was so cold! This year, Liz bought tickets in advance! We had to go sans Ankitha, as she is in Vegas in her cool new law firm job. This year we went to Costa Vida, left 3 hours in advance, and still we almost didn't get in! It took a long time to get up there, then we had to find a parking spot, then we had to figure out what bus would take us to the theatre. We got in with a minute to spare. It was like the Provo Dollar Theatre on Date night. We couldn't even sit together! And the movie was about Gangsters in Mexico...scary! Natalia said she was prepared because, "I've watched a lot of HBO." Unfortunately, my tv diet of "Jon & Kate Plus 8," "The Office," and "The Bachelor," had NOT prepared me for the experience. And no friend to dig my nails into as I tried not to stare at the screen during the violent moments.
Then we wandered around looking for famous people. I heard that Michael Phelps was there from a worker there we met on the bus on the way to our car. I was THIS CLOSE to meeting/marrying Michael Phelps. Can you guess how sad I was?
Then, Friday we met our fate. Grades came out, and 1Ls threatened to jump out windows. It wasn't so bad. Because my 1L grades were SO bad, I learned to lower myexpectations. I kept my GPA over a 3.0--WELL above that 2.7 required to graduate, thank you very much!
That night Stacey Nancy, Nicholas and I went to the Volleyball game. Eat your heart out Sara! I wore my heels that night. Stacey asked me why. "Because I was tired of wearing flats! I want to feel pretty!" After falling down the stairs twice in less than 30 seconds, I felt it best to try a more stable footwear this week.
After, we went to Spoon Me. It was good, but I think its a little overrated. However, we have seen how a LOT of football players like to go there. We saw Harvey Unga last night. Interesting place for big football players to hang out.
And there you have it. My weekend in a nutshell.

Some Good News
I've joined the ranks of the employed!
Today I got a call from Paul Vance (I always think about Bob Vance, Vance Refrigeration) from the Court House. He told me that the Honorable Judge Taylor from the 4th District Court would like to have me as a clerk and bailiff.
The good news, I have a job with a wardrobe allowance.
The bad news, my wardrobe is bailiff clothes. Not attractive. I'm pretty sure they wont like it if I get them tailored to fit or wear heels with them.
In updated Lady Buttons news: my car should be fine. However, they have no idea why it wont start and if they can't figure it out they'll have to send it to the dealer to figure it out.
Until then, I am stuck with the nasty Impala. I don't like it. It has wood panneling on the dashboard, and its a boat. I feel like its a car my grandpa should be driving. But grandpa-car is better than no car!
My Poor Baby!
So, we all now know my camera is old and I need a new one. Today I went off in search of a good deal, so I made a stop at Best Buy. I walked in, not there 20 minutes when I realize I need to do more research on cameras. There I am, walking to my car, not a care in the world. I stop when I get to my car.
There is a HUGE dent in the back, and it only has 1 "H" from its HHR left. I hit the lock button on the car remote. The lights flicker. Yep, this is indeed my car. Nebraska license plates on it. I want to cry.
Luckily, the guy who dented it with his Dodge Dakota left his insurance card on my rear window wiper. As any competant soon-to-be lawyer does, I call my mommy. And I might have cried a little. (if Justin Timberlake can do it while being "Punk'd" then I'm doing it too!) I remember my friend Jenn, when she got her new mini cooper being all mad when she got a door ding. All I could think was, "This is SO much worse!"
Seriously, I drive a crapper of a car for years and no one touches it. I buy a new car and I get a huge dent!
Well, the sequence of events goes like this: On the phone crying to my mom. My mom tells me what to do. I start to pull out of the parking spot to go home and make the calls from the comfort of my bed. I get completely pulled out of the spot and am in the middle of the parking lot when my car completely dies. I try to start it again. Nothing. I cry a little more to my mom. She tells me to call a brother. I call brothers while sitting in the middle of the Best Buy parking lot. People give me stink eyes. I want to yell, "Do you THINK if I could move my car at all I'd be sitting in this position?!"
I get ahold of Carlos and Karly, and Karly later tells me that she noticed my voice sounded weird (crying) and that she only heard me say the words "Car" and "Best Buy," (crying hysterically)and that they better go!
I sit in the parking lot and once again try to start the car. Nothing. I call the insurance people. Give them the information. Off the phone I wait for Carlos and Karly. I think, "hey, no one is helping me. How rude." Then I think, if someone wants to help me I can't roll my windows down, its all electricly wired. Then I realize, so are my locks! And my doors automatically lock when I move my lever out of park. My doors are locked and I can't get out! I'm STUCK! Then I realize I can just lift the lock with my hand. Panic subsides.
Carlos and Karly come. We unsuccessfully try to jump the car. I am still in the middle of the parking lot.
I call the tow truck. He says he'll take about an hour to come. I freeze. I try to take my keys out of the ignition. They wont come out. Apparently, it has something to do with the fact that the electrical wiring is out. (according to tow guy).
I freeze. I decide to sit in Carlos and Karly's car. We wonder how fast you had to be backing out to make that dent. Claim adjustor calls me. Claim adjustor says he has to make sure Brandon-owner and dentor admits guilt. Carlos and Karly tell me to call police in case he tries to deny. I call 911 and ask for Provo Police. They are none to kind about me calling without an emergency. Drew, my claim adjustor calls and says Brandon admits guilt. They pay for everything. I feel relieved. (I'm glad I didn't have to call Brandon and threaten him with litigious behavior).
After waiting well over an hour for tow truck guy, he arrives. He tried calling and asking the exact position my car was in at Best Buy. I confidently tell him, "You wont miss it. It is literally in the middle of the parking lot. Trust me, NO ONE has missed it!" Carlos and Karly are grateful the car is towed so that they stop hearing me make whispered threats to people who drive by my car, (who sees a car blocking the lane of a parking lot and think "I'll go down that way!") or people who stare and point. At least I am no longer sitting in the car. Carlos and Karly take me to dinner. I am eternally grateful.
Now I have to call Enterprise tomorrow so I can get a rental. And then I have to figure out where to park, since I don't have a G-lot sticker on my rental. Carlos says its a rental, park wherever. They aren't going to put a hold on the transcripts of Enterprise. Or, I can send the bill to Brandon should I get a ticket.
I hope they take good care of my Lady Buttons of Camelot. If they don't, I'll have to strip her of her title and just call her Buttons.

All Together Now
So, I have this digital camera. I kind of hate it. You have to hit it a few times to even be able to see the screen. And then a few months ago my camera wouldn't even allow me to take a picture. I thought the card was full, so I tried deleting pictures. I couldn't delete pictures either. Brilliant.
I'm pretty sure its all the memory card's fault. So, tonight I went to the store to find a new card. I looked and looked, and finally a guy from the store came to help.
Here is the outcome, and say it with me.
"My camera is so old"
--How old is it?
"My camera is so old, they don't even make the same memory cards for it!"
I'd have to find an adaptor online and buy it.
YAY
I think its time I just buy a new camera.

Sorry For All the Gravity!
Its true. I went to ballet class as a child--when I was 3 to be exact. In fact, it totalled about 3 days. I'm pretty sure I got all the grace out of those 3 classes (despite the fact that all I did was cry while sitting by the mirrors). I'm that good. However, it seemed not to matter this week. Also since I was 3, I've been walking in heels. Granted, I stole them from my mom, and she was never pleased about it, but I have. Usually I am also good at that. I can even run in my heels.

This week I was walking down the stairs going out of the law school and making small talk with my boss behind me when my heel gets caught on the rubber strip on the step and I fall down hard on my knee, but I grab the arm rail and I don't fall completely.
Well, my boss is asking me if I'm all right, and she's laughing. But its ok because I was laughing pretty hard myself. I'm about to answer her, when
BAM!
Once again my heel catches on the step and I go down. Only I'm still laughing so hard that I can't catch myself. I fall on my knee, and the next thing I know I'm rolling onto the landing with my back the floor, I'm surrounded by my computer bag and purse, and my legs are in the air.
Its pretty amazing.
Once the laughter subsides, my boss ventures, "You should probably take the elevator."

Beginning of the End
Update on my last semester of school...EVER! (which is both creepy and scary). I think I'll actually like my classes this semester. Weird, right? Well, except for professional responsibility, in which the professor expects us to come to class everyday, and be PREPARED! Who is she? And since its one of those pesky "required" courses, I can't get out of it. Speaking of weird teachers, they all seem to think I want to go out and buy a $100 casebook and read it. Are you crazy? Seriously, who does that?
But, the bright spot is that I finally get to take a class with a professor that I LOVE, and whom I call by first name--when she isn't around. I was a little hesitant when I realized that she didn't allow laptops in the classroom. Because, try as I might, most of these law classes can get quite boring. Especially when you don't pay attention. And that is when you need to gchat, check your email, and catch up on celebrity gossip. But after the first class I remembered how I loved the teacher and actually paid attention to her, and then the subject was actually interesting. Imagine that.
Another class I took, I took purely because the professor gives an easy final. Then we talked in class. It is Sports & Entertainment law. The first class included having us guess the top 3 celebrity couples who made the most last year, the Forbes 100 list, and our assignment, if we wanted (because there are 85 people in the class) was to find a celebrity, and figure out, "If we were in their entourage, what would we need to know about them to keep them happy."
I think I can do this.
