Lights Out!

The power seems to be going out in Provo a lot. A few weeks ago at work the power was out for over an hour. Which, at a court house, can be a bad thing. Only one court was going on at the time, but it was a criminal calendar. So the poor prison inmates were taken down to the holding cell. Unfortunately, they had to waddle down 4 flights of stairs in shackles, in the dark. About 45 minutes into it, the Judge said we should go home. So I did. About ten minutes later the power came back on, but I was already out!

Yesterday the power went out again. Then it came back on and normal life and AC resumed. However, a few hours later it went out AGAIN. But this was worse because it was 9pm, so my house was much darker. I tried to light a candle with the stove, but it wouldn't ignite without power. Then I had a flash of brilliance.

As gross as it is, I have a roommate who reminds me and my former roommate of Shrek, bless her heart. There is a lot of frustration with this woman, but for purposes right now, I will just say that she spends a LOT of time in the bathroom. A LOT. She even broke the toilet seat at one point. So, as I'm using my cell phone as a light, I think, this woman has got to have matches! So I text my old roommate, and sure enough there is a stash on the right side of the counter next to a scented candle. Success!

Unfortunately or fortunately, as soon as I light a candle the power comes back on. But its good to know where I can get some matches.
