Cars Hate Me: Part 74

Today is June 30th. Nothing especially important, except that my license plates expire today. Whoops! And, since this is Utah, I need a stupid safety and emissions test. So, I run to get that done during lunch, and I fail the safety test. Why? you ask. Well, one morning as I was running late my side mirror collided with the side of the garage door. Stupid Jiffy Lube says it is "Shattered." I say it had a few cracks, but I can totally see out of it!

So, I run to AutoZone in hopes that I can find a replacement mirror. They do not, but the guy says you can buy a mirror sticker to cover it and it'll work fine. So I get it, and the directions look easy. Remove old mirror sticker thing, stencil new mirror and put it on. 1-2-3.

Wrong. It is hard. I spend 2.5 hours of my lunch trying to get this thing off, and it is still a mess. Now you can really call it "shattered" and useless. Is it too late to just get a new car?

So, now I am running around Provo with expired plates. I guess this could have been fixed by doing this in advance, but where is the frustration in that?
