Because I am a law clerk as well as a bailiff I work for 2 different entities, and have muliple bosses. I'm a stateish employee because of my judge, and the county through the sheriff's office. In any case there are certain holidays that the state gets off when the county doesn't, and vice versa. For example, the day after Thanksgiving and Columbus day.
So, the solution they have come up with is that we outright get the day after Thanksgiving off. But, as far as Columbus day, we can't get it off, but the courts wont be open. So they have come up with something for us to do. Mandatory Fun Activities.
